Dr. J's Senior's safety tips for playing pickleball:
1. Don't dive for the ball! If you dive for the ball you may fall.
2. Don't run backwards for a lob. Let it go, let it be your partner's  job. If you fall backwards your head might hit the floor.
3. Tie your shoelaces tight. An untimely trip can hurt  the hip.
4. Stretch before playing! If you play stiff,  tendons can strain/tear!
5. Drink water, more water and more water. Load up on  electrolytes.  If             you don't, your lights might go out!
6. Run like your age, not what your mind says. Trust your body.
7.
Stay out of the kitchen! Take a dink and get out.
8. Have fun, play with everyone as often as possible.
9. Wear comfortable  clothing, if outdoors, protective clothing. Too much          sun burns the fun.

10. Play   your level & enjoy it. What is the next level for elders?

WANT TO GO TO THE NEXT LEVEL OR IMPROVE YOUR LEVEL OF PLAY?
1.  GET PROFESSIONAL COACHING! This is Coach Bob Gressen, admirably known as "Uncle Bob" and in just four lessons I've improved my level of play. I've also received coaching from Tom Senyitko, a level II CPTP of the International Pickleball Teaching Professional (IPTPA.COM), on strategy. Two great coaches.

2. GO TO TRAINING EVENTS/ WORKSHOPS/RETREATS - Information on training nearest you can be found on  the USAP website, USAP.ORG

3. WHEN POSSIBLE, PLAY WITH ADVANCED SKILL LEVEL PLAYERS. They will quickly show you your weaknesses and their strengths.....may be painful to your      ego but helpful to your game!

4. WHEN POSSIBLE, PLAY WITH BEGINNERS! Teaching the basic skills to beginners is a great way to remind yourself of the ABCs
